THE EDIT

Singapore, in three beautifully paced days.

Start with heritage streets and the river, move into the futuristic gardens and skyline, then trade the city for a full day of palms, sea and sunset on Sentosa.

DAY ONE

Heritage, the river
& a Singapore icon

Chinatown → Civic District → Raffles → Marina Bay

01

DAY ONE

Old Singapore to Marina Bay

01

Breakfast at Ya Kun Kaya Toast

Begin with the classic Singapore breakfast: kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs and kopi. Keep it simple and local before heading into Chinatown.

KALLAN NOTE Order the kaya toast set and dip the toast into the eggs with a little dark soy and pepper.

02

Chinatown + Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

Walk the shophouse-lined streets around Chinatown, then step inside the red-and-gold Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Give yourself time to wander rather than treating this as a quick photo stop.

03

Lunch at Maxwell Food Centre

Walk over for hawker-stall classics. This is the moment for Hainanese chicken rice, fresh juice and whatever else catches your eye.

04

Singapore River + Asian Civilisations Museum

Head toward the river and the Civic District. The Asian Civilisations Museum is a smart, manageable cultural stop inside the historic Empress Place Building.

05

A Singapore Sling at Raffles

Stop at the Long Bar at Raffles Singapore for the original Singapore Sling. It is unapologetically iconic—and exactly the kind of once-per-trip ritual worth doing.

KALLAN NOTE Long Bar is walk-in only. Go before the evening rush if you can.

06

Marina Bay at golden hour

Finish along the waterfront. Walk toward Marina Bay Sands, take in the skyline, then stay for the free Spectra light-and-water show if timing works.

Dinner: National Kitchen by Violet Oon

Stay in the Civic District for an elegant final meal of Singaporean and Peranakan flavours inside the historic National Gallery. The grand dining room and veranda overlooking the Padang make it feel special without pulling you far from the day’s route.

DAY TWO

Gardens, design
& an unforgettable night

Botanic Gardens → Dempsey → Kampong Glam → Gardens by the Bay

02

DAY TWO

Green Singapore + the city after dark

01

Singapore Botanic Gardens

Start early while the air is cooler. Wander the tropical grounds and make the National Orchid Garden your anchor stop.

02

Lunch at Candlenut

After the Botanic Gardens, head into leafy Dempsey for lunch at Candlenut. Chef Malcolm Lee’s Michelin-starred restaurant is a beautiful introduction to Peranakan cooking—deeply Singaporean, polished without feeling overly formal, and worth making part of the day rather than treating lunch as an afterthought.

VISIT CANDLENUT ↗
03

Kampong Glam + Haji Lane

Spend the afternoon around the Sultan Mosque, Arab Street and Haji Lane. The appeal is in the contrast: heritage architecture, textiles, tiny shops, cafés and vivid street art.

04

ATLAS for a pre-dinner drink

Walk over to Parkview Square and step into one of Singapore’s most theatrical rooms. The soaring Art Deco-inspired interior makes the stop as much about the setting as the cocktail.

KALLAN NOTE Reservations are smart, especially later in the week. Smart casual applies from 5pm.

05

Gardens by the Bay at dusk

Time this for late afternoon into evening. See Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, then head outside as the Supertrees begin to glow.

06

Garden Rhapsody

Stay for the nightly light-and-sound show at Supertree Grove. This is one of those tourist-famous experiences that still earns its place.

07

Dinner: Burnt Ends

If you can secure it, make this the big reservation of the trip: modern barbecue, an open kitchen and one of Singapore’s most talked-about dining rooms.

KALLAN NOTE Book as early as your dates allow. If Burnt Ends is unavailable, keep the evening around Marina Bay and choose a reservation there instead.

DAY THREE

Sentosa Island

Cable car → beach → Palawan → sunset → Sensoryscape

03

DAY THREE

A full island day

01

Take the cable car into Sentosa

Make the arrival part of the day. The Mount Faber Line carries you across the harbour with skyline and open-sea views before dropping you onto the island.

02

Palawan Beach + Southernmost Point

Head toward Palawan and cross the suspension bridge to the small islet known as the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. It is easy, scenic and gives the day a sense of place.

PALAWAN BEACH ↗
03

Settle in at Tanjong Beach Club

Make this your long lunch and slow-afternoon stop: a daybed, pool, sand and coastal food. It is the polished, relaxed counterpoint to two busy city days.

KALLAN NOTE Reserve the daybed experience in advance if you want to linger for several hours.

04

Stay through golden hour

Do less here. Swim, walk the beach and let the afternoon stretch. Sentosa works best when you resist trying to turn it into another checklist.

05

Sensoryscape after dark

Before leaving the island, walk through Sentosa Sensoryscape. The free 350-metre garden trail connects the resort area and beaches; after dark, its ImagiNite installations add light, sound and projections.
